Polypropylene features:
1. The biggest advantage of density polypropylene is its light texture. Its density is only 0.91g/cm3, which is the lightest variety among common chemical fibers. Therefore, polypropylene with the same weight can obtain a higher coverage area than other fibers.
2. Strong elongation Polypropylene has high strength, large elongation, high initial modulus and excellent elasticity. Therefore, polypropylene has good wear resistance. In addition, the wet strength of polypropylene is basically equal to the dry strength, so it is an ideal material for making fishing nets and cables.
3. Hygroscopicity and dyeing properties Light and warm; almost no moisture absorption, but strong wicking ability, moisture absorption and sweating effect is obvious; hygroscopicity of polypropylene is very small, almost no moisture absorption, and the moisture regain under general atmospheric conditions is close to zero. But it has a wicking effect, which transports water vapor through the capillaries in the fabric, but does not perform any absorption function itself. The dyeability of polypropylene fiber is poor and the color spectrum is incomplete, but the method of coloring with stock solution can be used to make up for the deficiency.
4. Acid and alkali resistance Polypropylene fiber has good chemical corrosion resistance. Except for concentrated nitric acid and concentrated caustic soda, polypropylene fiber has good resistance to acid and alkali, so it is suitable for use as filter material and packaging material.
5. Lightfastness, etc. Polypropylene fiber has poor lightfastness, poor thermal stability, easy aging, and not resistant to ironing. However, anti-aging properties can be improved by adding anti-aging agents during spinning. In addition, polypropylene has good electrical insulation, but it is prone to static electricity during processing. Due to the small thermal conductivity of polypropylene, it has good warmth retention.
6. High strength The strength of polypropylene elastic yarn is second only to nylon, but the price is only 1/3 of that of nylon; the finished fabric is stable in size, wear-resistant and elastic, and has good chemical stability. But poor thermal stability, not resistant to sunlight, easy to aging and brittle
Due to the low density of polypropylene fibers, polypropylene slings made of the same strength are thicker, lighter, more impact-resistant, better cushioning, and relatively wear-resistant. Because polypropylene materials have better acid and alkali resistance, polypropylene slings are more acid-resistant Alkali corrosion, due to the easy change of the molecules of the material, the polypropylene sling has poor temperature resistance and cannot be used at high temperature. The polypropylene sling can be hot melted at 80 degrees, and it will become hard and brittle after use. The thermal stability of the polypropylene sling is poor. It is not resistant to sunlight, easy to age, and has a short service life.
